Under California law, all public records are free. Interested parties can view public records by contacting the government agency that manages the records.

Requests for public records must be made to individual County departments, agencies, commissions and committees. If you are unable to identify the appropriate department and need assistance, the Office of Countywide Communications, can direct you to the appropriate department, agency, commission or committee.

Slip Opinions are as-filed versions of opinions certified for publication or ordered published; they do not reflect enhancement, editing, and correction for the Official Reports.

The majority of Court of Appeal opinions are not certified for publication and are thus not published in the Official Reports. These opinions are known as "unpublished"; they generally cannot be cited or relied upon in other cases (see California Rules of Court, rule 8.1115).
